There's something that happens when someone sits down and someone dedicates time, attention, and care to their hair. It's not vanity. It's recognition. It's the moment when someone who has gone weeks, sometimes months, without really looking in the mirror, looks straight at themselves and recognizes what they see.
That is what Corte Solidario brings to organizations that serve the most vulnerable communities in Indianapolis.
What is Solidarity Court?
Solidarity Cut is Belisimoda Academy 's free professional services program. Our apprentices and experienced volunteer stylists come directly to your space with their tools, professional training, and time.
to offer haircuts and styling services to the people you serve.
No cost to your organization. No chemicals. No complicated requirements. All you need is the space and your community.

Whom do we serve?
Corte Solidario is designed for spaces that work with people in vulnerable situations:

What happens in a session?
What happens in a Solidarity Court session is difficult to measure in numbers, although numbers matter: more than 500 people served per month, present in more than 3 locations in Indianapolis, with a team that grows every cycle.
But what really happens is this:
A woman who arrived at a shelter three weeks ago, wearing borrowed clothes and unsure of what would come next, sits in a chair. Someone trained by Belisimoda Academy looks at her, asks how she prefers her hair, and works carefully and intentionally. When finished, the woman looks at herself in the mirror.
And something changes.
Not in her situation. In her presence. In how she stands. In how she perceives herself in that difficult moment.
That's not a hair service. It's an act of restoring dignity. And your organization can offer it at no additional cost, without complex logistics, simply by opening its doors.
How does the alliance work?
The process is simple. You contact us, tell us about your community and your spaces, and we coordinate the first session together. We bring everything we need. You invite the people you want to receive the service.
After each session, we share participation and satisfaction data with you so you can include it in your reports, funding applications, and impact documentation.
We currently have active partnerships with the Damian Center, Julian Center, Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, and other leading organizations in Indianapolis. Every partnership begins with a conversation.

Each Solidarity Cut session is possible because someone decided that the dignity of a stranger was worth their time, money, or tools.

Do you have professional beauty tools or products that you no longer use?
We accept them.
What we need most:
✦ Professional cutting scissors
✦ Combs and brushes
✦ Headbands, clips and hair accessories
✦ Lounge capes and towels
✦ Chemical-free products — shampoo, conditioner, leave-in
Everything you donate goes directly to a Solidarity Court session.
Nothing is left in storage.

CASH DONATION
Your donation buys the scissors, combs, products, and materials that our stylists use in each session.
Without these tools, there is no service. With them, we reach more people, in more places, more frequently.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to the program. Not to overhead. Not to advertising. To the hands of a stylist who will use it to restore the dignity of someone in need.
